Change is all around us. How we deal with and adapt to change is both a challenge and opportunity. The Celebration of Agriculture Conference “Meeting the Challenge of Change” will provide you with tools and skills necessary to meet the challenge of change.
The Celebration of Agriculture Conference will be held on Friday, Mar. 31 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Syracuse. An extended Young Farmer program will begin Friday evening with an event at the Syracuse Crunch Hockey Game and agricultural tours are planned for Saturday, Apr. 1.
This is a New York Farm Bureau Leadership Conference for all county Farm Bureau members which includes board members, county committee chairs, Promotion and Education committee members and Young Farmers and Ranchers committee members.
Gary Swan will be the keynote speaker on “Fueling Farm Bureau’s Engine to Meet the Challenges of Change”. Workshops sessions include: Drones in Agriculture, The Changing Face of NYFB Membership, How to Run or Ruin a Meeting- Parliamentary Procedure Tips, Bridging the Generational Divide, and Speak Up! Speak Out!.
New this year – there will be two workshops where DEC credits have been applied for: Pesticides and Protecting Your Health and Pesticide Rules & Regulations Overview.
There will also be a table talk session where many different topics are discussed such as Ag in the Classroom, Food, Land and People; How to Organize County Events; Answering GMO Questions; Tips for Developing Media Relations; National and State Issue Updates; Farm Transition Planning; NY State Fair Agricultural Update and Young Farmer and Rancher Competitive Events.
The cost for NYFB members to attend the one-day Celebration of Agriculture Conference is $40 which includes registration fee and lunch. The cost for members to attend the two-day extended Young Farmer session is $115 which includes registration fee, Friday lunch, Friday dinner and hockey game, Saturday breakfast and agricultural tours.
