The New York Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) program works to develop future agricultural leaders through involvement with youth in FFA, 4-H and at agricultural colleges. There are NYFB Collegiate Chapters at Cornell University, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Morrisville and Alfred State College.
With this in mind, student memberships* are available for members ages 16-21.
4-H and FFA members who are high school juniors and seniors, and collegiate students with an agricultural major, are eligible for a complimentary NYFB student membership.
Student Members Can:
- Develop leadership skills
- Network with other agriculturalists
- Gain community service through New York Farm Bureau’s partnership with Feeding America’s Harvest for All program
- Promote agriculture in their communities
- Take advantage of scholarship opportunities for high school seniors
- Compete in state & national competitive events through the NYFB Young Farmers & Ranchers program (for members ages 18-35)
- And… membership and leadership look great on your resume!
*Student members do not have voting privileges and cannot hold office. No insurance or insurance eligibility is associated with a student membership. Student members are not eligible for NYFB Member Services discount programs and other non-insurance-related service programs.
