Statement from New York Farm Bureau Following Gov. Hochul’s Release of Executive Budget
The following statement may be attributed to New York Farm Bureau President David Fisher:
“New York Farm Bureau is pleased that Governor Hochul included in her budget an extra $5,000,000 for the Farmworker Housing Program and $750,000 for the Cornell University Ruminant Center (CURC), which includes the Dairy Research Unit. We also thank the governor for including $55 million for Nourish NY, a program that connects families in need with surplus agricultural products grown by New York farmers. As Governor Hochul continues to work towards passing a final budget, we look forward to working with her and with members of the legislature to ensure that additional essential funding for agriculture is included.”
