Our Mission:
To inform and educate all New Yorkers regarding agriculture, and to increase understanding between the farm and non-farm public. Our goal is to raise the level of public awareness and understanding about agriculture, which will serve to alleviate misunderstandings that can manifest themselves in negative ways and cause unnecessary upheaval within the food system, superfluous regulations, excess costs, and a breakdown within the infrastructure of our communities and state. This understanding will allow the general public to make “informed” choices.
Events/ Programs Update:
New York Farm Bureau's Foundation is once again hosting the Food and Farm Experience (FFX) for middle and high school counselors. The three day event at the Craftsman Inn and Suites in Fayetteville, NY, will showcase the hundreds of agricultural career opportunities that exist on and off the farm.
FFX is an expenses paid, hands-on learning experience exclusively designed for middle school and high school career exploration and development. It will include farm tours and engaging speakers, with the purpose of building connections between school counselors and job opportunities associated with food and farming.
Participants for FFX are selected through a nomination/application process. For more information or to apply, click here for the FFX page and select Apply Now. If you would prefer a paper application, simply download and save the application with the applicant’s name and email to Laurie Beach at lbeach@nyfb.org. Deadline for submission is July 1, 2024.
