Manager, County Farm Bureau Relations and Development – Capital District/Hudson Valley
Job description:
The candidate will promote growth, productivity and effectiveness of County Farm Bureaus (CFB) by acting as a liaison between the state and county Farm Bureaus (CFBs). This position will cover seven to eight counties in Capital District/Hudson Valley region. This position is work from home with travel throughout the Capital District/Hudson Valley region.
Duties include:
- promoting membership growth by assisting CFBs to develop & implement a plan for membership acquisition & retention;
- recruiting new potential members and trains membership workers;
- promoting legislative action programs by providing information on action requests, priority issues and Farm Bureau policy,
- encouraging attendance at regional, state and national public policy events;
- assisting county leaders in local issue action;
- developing leaders by assisting CFBs in recruiting, training, encouraging & motivating potential leaders;
- promoting & marketing member services programs.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college/technical school; 2-4 years related experience and/or training.
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license required. Travel is an essential part of the job. Will include occasional night and some weekend meetings/events, and attendance at statewide events. Company vehicle will be provided.
- Must have access to reliable high-speed internet/WiFi. Agricultural background a plus.
Job Type: Full-time, Salary Exempt
Work Location: Remote with significant NYS travel
