NYFB's Food and Farm Experience is Returning
The New York Farm Bureau Foundation for Agricultural Education, Inc. (The Foundation) is happy to announce the return of The Food & Farm Experience(FFX) this fall. The FFX is an annual summit about agriculture, whose purpose is building connections between school counselors and job opportunities associated with food and farming. FFX is an expenses-paid, two-day hands-on learning experience exclusively designed for middle school and high school career exploration and development. Participants will be selected via an application process (or you can nominate someone, and we will follow up).
The FFX program will help to develop extensive agricultural understanding and facilitate connections with an industry that offers more than 300 related career opportunities. The complete experience will include all the tools, resources, and introductions that are essential in providing guidance and counseling for students exploring career paths.
This year’s FFX will be held on Oct. 16-18, in Fayetteville, NY, and will be packed with a combination of agriculture visits and panels for a group of no more than 35 people. Organized tours will showcase a variety of stops along the journey from farm to fork and provide insights into the multitude of career opportunities available in the agricultural industry. Exposure to panels of experts representing agricultural jobs and education options will broaden the scope and perspective of future counseling and help guide the next generation to fulfill the many needs of our industry.
Participants for FFX are selected through a nomination/application process. Go to the FFX page and select Apply Now.
Deadline for submission is July 1, 2024. Food, lodging, and workshop material costs are covered.
If you know a counselor who might be interested in attending the 2024 Food & Farm Experience or know someone to nominate, please feel free to share the information.
