NY Farm Bureau Statement on House Passage of E15 Bill
For Immediate Release: May 14, 2026
New York Farm Bureau President David Fisher:
“Yesterday’s passage by the House on a bill that allows year-round sales of E15 ethanol fuel is a big win for agriculture across the country and for New York corn growers. The bipartisan support of the bill shows the importance of domestic fuel sources, particularly while gas prices have skyrocketed.
“This legislation is projected to save consumers 10 to 30 cents per gallon at the pump, and it supports farmers by providing an expanded market for corn growers. Specifically, the sale of E15 year-round is expected to increase demand for corn by up to 2.4 billion bushels per year for farmers across the country, while reducing CO2 emissions by more than 17.62 million tons per year — the equivalent of taking nearly 4 million cars off the road.
“New York Farm Bureau applauds our state representatives who supported this milestone legislation: Andrew Garbarino (R-NY-2), Laura Gillen (D-NY-4), Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY-8), Tim Kennedy (D-NY-26), Nick LaLota (R-NY-1), Nick Langworthy (R-NY-23), Mike Lawler (R-NY-17), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY-11), John Mannion (D-NY-22), Gregory Meeks (D-NY-5), Josh Riley (D-NY-19), Pat Ryan (D-NY-18), Tom Suozzi (D-NY-3), Claudia Tenney (R-NY-24) and Paul Tonko (D-NY-20).
“We urge members of the Senate to expedite the review and passage of this bill.”
